It looks like Twilight star Dakota Fanning has washed the recent anti-Cosmopolitan magazine controversy right out of her hair. For the actress did not seem to have a care in the world as she showed off her new pink highlights as she went on a shopping spree in Beverly Hills today. She looked overjoyed as she wandered around, with the winter wind drawing more attention to her newly coloured tips.
The 17-year-old's mother Heather followed close behind as she left upmarket restaurant Mr Chows. And she certainly looked pleased with her new look, which was topped off by a classy white blouse, orange skirt and platform boots, as she giggled as she walked down the street. It certainly seemed like the Runaways star was not worrying about the controversy over the latest Cosmopolitan magazine cover, which has attracted an avalanche of criticism for placing the underage actress alongside a slew of sex headlines.
Former fashion model, Nicole Weider, writing on her site ProjectInspired.com, said the popular title 'unashamedly markets to teen girls' while insisting in press kits that its audience is over 18. She claimed the title pushes a pornographic agenda - taking particular offense at the bright cover lines next to the teen's beaming face. For Dakota, a freshman student at New York University, the Cosmo debacle comes just months after her ad for Marc Jacobs' Lola! perfume her was banned in the UK because it appeared to 'sexualise a child'. It featured the blonde actress sitting on the floor with the perfume bottle between her thighs.
